Product description

Soft-clumping and anti-sticking litter pellets, reducing litter being scattered around the home. It is entirely biodegradable and compostable, with high absorbency and odour-binding fibre technology.

Cat's Best Smart Pellets is ideal for cats with long fur, as the pellets don't stick to the fur or paws thanks to the smooth surface. Cat's Best Smart Pellets is a soft-clumping litter made of 100% natural plant fibres, and it is both biodegradable and compostable.

Thanks to the odour absorbent active wood fibre technology in Cat's Best Smart Pellets, odours and moisture can be kept bound for a long time. It forms into partiuclarly soft clumps, which can then be easily removed, with the rest of the litter staying in the tray for longer. This makes Cat's Best Smart Pellets more economical than other litter. The main body of litter will last for up to 7 weeks.

Cat's Best Smart Pellets work best if you simply remove the clumps that have formed and dispose of them in your organic waste or your toilet. It has been made exclusively with PEFC-certified secondary wood materials from the wood working industry in harmony with nature - no tree is felled!

Cat's Best Smart Pellets at a glance:

  • Soft-clumping cat litter made from pellets
  • Anti-sticking: ideal for long-haired cats, thanks to the smooth surface of the pellets that minimises litter being strewn around
  • 100% natural active wood fibres: straight from nature
  • Extremely odour binding: naturally fragrant - no artificial additives (pure natural product)
  • Can absorb up to 7 times its volume in moisture: first-class absorption for dry paws and optimum binding
  • Very economical: lasts up to 7 weeks, more economical than regular litter
  • 100% compostable and biodegradable: waste litter can simply be put in the compost, with clumps able to be flushed down the toilet or put in organic waste
  • Sustainable & PEFC-certified: the wood fibres come from secondary materials and ensure no trees are felled
  • Easier to transport - up to 40% lighter than mineral litter
Disposal instructions:
Clumps should be deposited in the toilet one by one and given plenty of time to individually dissolve before flushing. Disposal can be made even easier by lightly crushing clumps with a litter scoop to make them smaller.
Only one clump should be deposited in the toilet at a time. Allowing the water to fully dissolve the clumps will ensure that the process is simple, clean and hygienic.
Using the household toilet is not recommended for the disposal of an entire tray of cat litter. In this case, please refer to your local waste disposal regulations - organic waste, compost or normal household waste!

Not bad, not great
Thought I would try something different, I usually get Greenwood’s plant fibre green clumping litter, and I much prefer Greenwood’s. This didn’t seem to clump quite as well as the Greenwood’s option, and I found it didn’t disguise the smell as well. Overall, it’s not bad & and it works but is a bit messy. Incase anyone is wondering if to try either!

Very good wood pellets.
Absorbs odours well, easy to use and little tracking.

Worth it!
I used to use Catsan but it made such a mess, since swapping to this my cats seem much more happier and theres less mess as its chunkier and it also smells more natural and absorbs well making it easy to dispose of!

Okay
Used this litter for ages and liked it, however the price has gone up so much! It clumps well but does track a fair amount. I changed to the corn litter and am so much happier with it! Good product but not worth the amount it costs.

Quality has changed
We've used this product for years, unfortunately in the last few months the product has changed and it's now terrible. The original smart pellets were fantastic, now we're stuck with not having any decent liter. I thought I was going a bit mad until I saw all the other reviews corroborating what I thought! It's now very dusty, small and poor quality.

Clumping to weak
Smart pellets work, almost no tracking at all but, and it is a big but; -you pay for this smart clumping but the absorption is so slow making the urine go through to the bottom of the litter tray making pointless the clumping as it won't shape or bond in a way to scoop it out. I'm afraid the previous reviews are honest.

Very poor Quality
This cat litter used to be fabulous and although expensive I was happy to pay as if stopped my three long haired cats tracking litter through the house Unfortunately now instead of the large well formed pellets this is now like messy powdery porridge It’s a disaster sawdust everywhere and it’s now very poor at absorbing urine Usually buy 6 bags at a time and everyone in last delivery is the same What a waste of money

Product has changed
I've bought this cat litter for years and the product I received in January has a VERY steep decrease in quality. The pellets are sharper, smaller, darker and they fall apart easily/don't clump as well as they used too. My cat now tracks it throughout the house. This product is expensive but it always balanced out because I had to empty the whole tray less often. Now I'm emptying more frequently so I need to find a new product. I do not recommend this for long hair cats anymore :(

Very Poor
I have always loved Cat's Best but I decided to try the Smart Pellets thinking they would be better than the original Cats Best, however, I am very disappointed the clumps fall apart when scooping, no difference to the odour and does not live up to the high absorbency and odour-binding fibre technology. I certainly will not be buying it again. CerCome on Cat's Best you can do better than this.

Quality not like it was
I have used this for a number of years, and previously used the original, however in recent months I’ve noticed sometimes I get a good bag but more increasingly it’s a much darker shade and loads of dust, plus the clumping just breaks apart. I’m going to have to look at alternatives.

Big drop in quality
I have been using this cat litter for years, and for a few months now I've observed a big drop in the quality of the product. The pellets are not as dense, as they used to be, therefore they break apart quite easily. It results in a lot of dust, and cats dragging the crumbs out when walking out of the litter box. Disappointing. Buying something else starting this month.

Not as good as it used to be
I buy from zoo plus as it used to save me money. This has just jumped up £3 a bag, not worth the money as it tracks a lot more than it used to and sticks to my main coons fur

Not impressed
I switched to this litter from cats best original as it was very messy tracking everywhere, I'm not impressed at all, it supposed to block out odours and it didn't.I found I'm using a lot more litter, after scooping there's hardly any litter left in the litter box. The only good side to it is that it doesn't track like the original cats best litter. Won't be buying this again

Quality has deteriorated
I used to love these pellets. SO much better than the ordinary Cats Best so well worth the extra. I like clumping litter so there is very little choice in pellets. However, recently the litter has been more like dust. The pellets are very small and just disintegrate. I emailed Cats Best but never got a reply. Very disappointed.

Poor quality
I have used this litter for a while, since changing from the original, because it didn’t track or stick in their paws, but I’ve complained recently because the quality of the pellets is very poor almost like it’s the original bits but with lots of dust. I had to sift it all before I could use it and lost almost half a bag. Won’t be buying again till it’s rectified. Now to my pick another one!!!

Mushed up pellets
I normally use original cats best but tried the pellets last time to see if it helped with tracking with my long haired cats. Which it did. I now receive 2 large packs in this delivery and they are only about 30/40 % complete pellets the rest is crumbed pellets and dust which will be worse for tracking than the original cats best. Both packets are affected. The extra cost makes this very disappointing.

Quality deterioration
I have been buying this litter lately because it wasn't tracking as badly as the previous sort. But the quality has deteriorated and it quickly breaks up into tiny crumbs which make an awful mess. I won't be buying again.

Excellent cat litter - if you learn how to use it
This cat litter is fab. It's flushable, lasts ages and doesn't track. You have to learn how to use it though and it's slightly more complicated than regular litter. You'll need a shifting litter tray; check out Youtube for videos that explain how to use them properly.

Crumbles leaving soiled litter behind
Always purchased the Cat's Best Smart Pellets because there was little or no smell, when first put out very woodsy smell, clumped very well, easy to scoop up taking everything soiled. Now something has changed and urine spots crumble on contact with the scooper making it very difficult to collect all the bits. Using a lot more litter and cleaning out the litter box far more frequently. Please return to the old smart pellets - please.
